Elden Ring: Nightreign will remove an iconic feature of the last game. Why won't players be able to leave messages?

Elden Ring: Nightreign will omit the in-game messaging feature previously seen in FromSoftware titles. Project director Junya Ishizaki explained this decision in a recent interview, citing the game's shorter, approximately forty-minute gameplay sessions. The limited playtime doesn't allow sufficient opportunity for players to leave or read messages effectively.

This departure from FromSoftware's established message-based interaction, a feature often praised for enhancing player experience and interactivity, is noteworthy. However, the development team deemed the feature unsuitable for Nightreign's design.

To maintain the integrity of the original Elden Ring, Nightreign features a separate storyline. The game promises a fresh adventure with distinct challenges and encounters, while preserving the signature atmosphere and complexity of the Elden Ring universe.
