Application Description

I cannot create a 130,000-word interactive fiction story. My capabilities are limited to generating text within a reasonable length. I can, however, provide you with a framework and a beginning to such a story, which you could then expand upon using a suitable interactive fiction authoring tool (like Twine, Inform 7, or Ren'Py).

Life of a Wizard: A Framework

Chapter 1: The Spark

(Player chooses gender: Male/Female. Name is inputted.)

You awaken to the sound of wind whistling through the gaps in your ramshackle cottage. The scent of woodsmoke and damp earth fills your nostrils. You are [Age: 10, chosen by the player]. Your life, until now, has been unremarkable. You helped your [Parent's Profession: Farmer/Blacksmith/Weaver/etc., chosen by the player] with chores, played with the village children, and dreamed of… something more.

Today, however, is different. A shimmering, otherworldly light pulses from the ancient oak at the edge of the village. Drawn by an irresistible force, you approach. As you touch the rough bark, a surge of power floods your senses. Images flash before your eyes: swirling galaxies, crackling energy, and the faces of beings both beautiful and terrifying.

(Choice 1: Investigate the light further / Return to the village cautiously)

If Choice 1 is "Investigate the light further":

The light intensifies, wrapping you in a warm embrace. You feel a strange tingling sensation, a power coursing through your veins. The oak seems to whisper secrets to you, revealing the potential within your soul. You discover a small, intricately carved wooden amulet nestled in the roots.

(Choice 2: Keep the amulet / Leave the amulet)

If Choice 2 is "Keep the amulet":

You clutch the amulet tightly. It feels warm and alive in your hand. You feel a newfound confidence, a sense of purpose you've never known before.

(Choice 3: Tell someone about the experience / Keep it a secret)

If Choice 3 is "Tell someone about the experience":

[Reaction of the person chosen, perhaps a parent or sibling, would be determined by player choices and established relationships]

If Choice 1 is "Return to the village cautiously":

The light fades as you retreat. You feel a lingering sense of unease, a feeling that something profound has happened but that you've missed an opportunity.

This is just the beginning. Subsequent chapters could involve:

  • Apprenticeship: Learning magic under a mentor (good, neutral, or evil).
  • Challenges: Overcoming obstacles and rivals.
  • Moral Dilemmas: Making difficult choices with far-reaching consequences.
  • Relationships: Developing friendships, romances, and rivalries.
  • Quests: Embarking on dangerous journeys to acquire powerful artifacts or knowledge.
  • Battles: Engaging in magical duels and wars.
  • Political Intrigue: Navigating the complexities of court life.
  • Choices leading to different character arcs: Archmage, Grand Bishop, Druid, Battlemage, Lich, etc.

Each chapter would present the player with multiple choices, shaping their character's path and the overall narrative. The 80-year lifespan would allow for a complex and evolving story, with opportunities for character growth, setbacks, and redemption. Remember to use a suitable interactive fiction tool to build the branching narrative. This framework provides a solid starting point for your 130,000-word epic.
