TMEditor is a free, versatile tool designed for effortlessly creating 2D game map layouts. Beyond basic tile placement, it allows you to define more complex game elements such as collision areas, enemy spawn points, and power-up locations, saving all this data in the widely-used .tmx format.
How TMEditor Works
Creating maps with TMEditor is a straightforward process:
- Define your map dimensions and the size of your base tiles.
- Import your tilesets from image files.
- Position your tilesets on the map.
- Add objects to represent abstract game elements.
- Save your map as a .tmx file.
- Import the .tmx file into your game engine for use.
