Alan Wake 2 Strive to Emulate Naughty Dog

Remedy Entertainment aims to be a leading force in the industry, drawing inspiration from Naughty Dog, particularly the Uncharted series. Alan Wake 2 director, Kyle Rowley, stated their ambition to become "the European equivalent of this iconic studio" in a Behind The Voice podcast interview. This influence is apparent in Quantum Break and, significantly, Alan Wake 2.

Rowley's statement, "We should aspire to be the European version of Naughty Dog," highlights their goal.

Alan Wake 2's cinematic presentation, lauded for its stunning visuals and compelling narrative, showcases this inspiration. The game's success firmly establishes Remedy's position as a top European studio.

Remedy's aspirations extend beyond the horror genre. Naughty Dog's mastery of cinematic single-player experiences, exemplified by Uncharted and The Last of Us (the latter a highly acclaimed and award-winning franchise integral to PlayStation's history), serves as a clear benchmark.

Over a year post-launch, Alan Wake 2 continues to receive updates enhancing gameplay across all platforms. These improvements include significant optimization for the PS5 Pro, introducing a "Balanced" graphics option that combines the strengths of the PS5 Pro Performance and Quality modes.

These updates also refined Alan Wake 2's graphic settings for a smoother frame rate and clearer visuals, alongside addressing minor gameplay-affecting bugs, particularly within the Lake House expansion.
