inZOI's Director Unveils Plans for Karma System and Ghostly Encounters
inZOI game director Hyungjun Kim recently revealed intriguing details about an upcoming Karma system that introduces a paranormal element to the game's realistic setting. This system will determine the fate of deceased Zois, transforming them into ghosts based on their accumulated Karma points.
High Karma Zois will peacefully transition to the afterlife, while those with insufficient points will linger as ghosts, tasked with accumulating enough Karma to move on. The specific actions required to increase Karma remain undisclosed.
Kim emphasized that ghost interactions will be carefully balanced to avoid overshadowing the core gameplay. Currently, these interactions are limited to specific conversations under particular circumstances.
This foray into fantasy elements complements inZOI's commitment to realism. Kim expressed a desire to explore more fantastical features in the future, suggesting that these elements could enhance the overall gaming experience.
A Glimpse into Karma Interactions
A sponsored video by MadMorph, a content creator partnered with Krafton Inc., offered a brief preview of the Karma Interaction system. This system allows Zois to perform actions that impact their Karma score, both positively and negatively. Examples shown included a playful (and slightly rude) act, like secretly farting on another Zoi's face, and more positive actions like discarding trash or liking a friend's post.
While the Early Access version focuses on the living Zois, the Karma Interaction system promises a significant expansion of gameplay in future updates.
inZOI's Early Access launch on Steam is scheduled for March 28th, 2025, giving players less than six weeks to prepare for this unique life simulation experience.
