In the competitive world of Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 multiplayer, countless final kills are recorded and shared online, but few are as spectacular as this one.
The Ricochet Blades, unique ammo for the D1.3 Sector secondary weapon, introduced during last month's controversial Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles event, quickly became a topic of conversation due to their unpredictable, bouncing trajectory.
Player kev99gh captured and shared a final kill in a hardcore Search and Destroy match on the Lowtown map. The kill involved a Ricochet Blade (affectionately nicknamed a "pizza" by the community) bouncing out of the map and back in for a one-hit kill on an unsuspecting enemy peeking from a window.

kev99gh's incredible clip is arguably the longest Ricochet Blade kill ever recorded, thanks to the blade's excursion beyond the map's boundaries. The video shows kev99gh lining up the shot, firing blindly, then switching to the overhead map view to track the blade as it skims the map's edge before returning for the kill.
These elaborate, seemingly improbable trick shots aren't just luck. Redditor SpawnTubing, who posted kev99gh's clip, explained that the Black Ops 6 community actively "look for and practice common camping spots." Commenters also noted the impeccable timing of the enemy player peeking just as the "pizza" reappeared—a scenario familiar to many Black Ops 6 players.
The Ricochet Blades have, in fact, spawned a kind of "bounce kill" meta, with numerous (though less impressive) kills across various multiplayer maps appearing online. Some, like the example below, involve multiple bounces before hitting their target.

However, not all players are thrilled. Some find the bouncing blades frustrating and annoying. These critics will be displeased to learn that developer Treyarch recently buffed the Ricochet Blades' physics and bounce speed, ensuring one-hit kills on contact. Here's the relevant patch note:
D1.3 Sector
Our initial design for the D1.3 Sector Ricochet Blades revolved around quickly launching many high-speed blades, meant to perform best blind firing into enclosed spaces. We have been following your feedback and agree that, in practice, the use cases for this ammo type are too low. The Ricochet Blades will now do 100 damage to enable one-hit kills, and to compensate we are lowering the fire rate and projectile speed. We think the popularity of this ammo type will see some new interest with these changes and look forward to seeing more of your cross-map killcams in MP.
Ricochet Blades
- Increased damage from 75 to 100.
- Decreased rate of fire.
- Decreased projectile velocity.
- Improved bouncing speeds and physics.
With Season 3 and the anticipated return of Verdansk to Warzone on the horizon, the reign of the Ricochet Blades appears poised to intensify.
