The 4 Bead game, also known as 4 Teni, Sholo Guti, or 4 Daane, is a strategic game designed for two players, each starting with 4 beads. The objective is to outmaneuver your opponent and be the last player with any beads remaining on the board. The game begins automatically once both players register, with the first player initiating the gameplay by selecting and moving one of their beads.
Players have two primary methods to move their beads:
- By moving to the nearest available space: This move allows players to strategically position their beads, potentially safeguarding them from being captured by the opponent. Note that players can only move to the nearest space once per turn.
- By crossing an opponent's bead: If a player's nearest move involves an opponent's bead and the space immediately beyond it is empty, the player can 'cross' the opponent's bead, effectively removing it from play. This move can be executed multiple times in a single turn, allowing for potentially game-changing sequences. After executing a crossing move, the player must end their turn by either clicking the 'PASS' button or selecting another bead to move.
The game's outcome hinges on which player loses all their beads first. For example, if Player One loses all their beads before Player Two, then Player Two is declared the winner. This simple yet engaging game tests players' strategic foresight and tactical acumen, making every move crucial in the battle to maintain control of the board.
