While Monster Hunter Wilds shines brightest when shared with friends online, solo hunts have their own appeal. But what about those unexpected real-life interruptions? Here's how to pause the game.

Pause Game During Quests and Hunts in Monster Hunter Wilds

Pausing Monster Hunter Wilds

Pausing in Monster Hunter Wilds is straightforward. Open the menu using the Options button, then use L1 or R1 to navigate to the Systems tab. Select "Pause Game" with the X button. This works even during hunts or combat. Resume your hunt effortlessly by pressing the Circle button or R3. This handy feature ensures you can seamlessly handle life's interruptions without losing your progress. Even in online single-player mode (no other players in your lobby), pausing is always available.

Can You Pause While Playing Multiplayer?

Unfortunately, pausing isn't an option in multiplayer. If you're in a lobby or party with others, the game remains active. If you need a break, try to find a safe spot for your character to avoid taking damage. Remember, monster health pools are larger in multiplayer, so extended AFK periods could put your team at a disadvantage.
