The Gothic 1 Remake demo has been released on Steam

THQ Nordic and Alkimia Interactive have unveiled a new trailer for the "Nyras Prologue" demo of the Gothic 1 Remake. This demo, released during the Steam Next Fest, allows players to experience a portion of the game as Nyras, a prisoner, rather than the Nameless Hero of the original. Despite the protagonist change, the core objective remains: survival in the unforgiving world of Gothic.

The demo has already achieved a remarkable feat, setting a new record for concurrent players amongst all Gothic games:

The prologue showcases the remake's enhanced visuals, animations, and Unreal Engine 5-powered combat system. While the demo doesn't fully capture the expansive gameplay and RPG depth promised in the full release, it offers a compelling glimpse into the updated experience.

The Gothic Remake is slated for release on PlayStation 5, Xbox Series X|S, and PC (Steam and GOG), though a specific launch date remains unannounced.
