When a Gaming Legends skin graces Fortnite, there's no predicting when it will grace the Item Shop again. For some, like Kratos, it's been years, but for Master Chief? The wait is over. Master Chief, the iconic hero from the Halo series, has been in cryostasis for nearly 1,000 days, last seen on June 3, 2022. That is, until a festive surprise on December 23, 2024.

Now, players can don their Spartan armor and leap from the Battle Bus as Petty Officer John-117 to secure that Victory Royale as Xbox's most celebrated mascot. But what's included in the Master Chief Bundle in Fortnite, and how many V-Bucks will it set you back?

How to Get Master Chief in Fortnite

1,500 V-Bucks

As of December 23, 7 PM ET, fans can navigate to the Fortnite Item Shop to locate and purchase Master Chief from his dedicated tab. The cost for Master Chief alone is 1,500 V-Bucks, and with this purchase, players not only get the legendary character in his Halo Infinite armor, but also the Battle Legend Back Bling at no extra cost. Although Master Chief does not yet have a LEGO Style, players can choose to buy the full Master Chief Bundle or select items individually:

Master Chief will be available for purchase in the Fortnite Item Shop until December 30, 7 PM ET.

How to Get the Matte Black Master Chief in Fortnite

Epic Games has confirmed via their Fortnite Status account on X (formerly Twitter) that players can still unlock the Matte Black style for the Master Chief outfit. To do so, simply purchase the Master Chief outfit and then play a single match of Fortnite Battle Royale on an Xbox Series X|S. This action will unlock the coveted Matte Black style.

Previously, it was announced that the Matte Black style for Master Chief would not be available for those purchasing the skin after December 2024. However, this decision has been reversed, allowing players to now claim this exclusive style.
