BG3 Patch 8 Is So Big, It Needs To Be Stress Tested

This update to the Patch 8 stress test addresses various bugs, crashes, and scripting errors. It also ensures Gale correctly interacts with magical items. Access to this update is limited to those participating in the stress test. Non-testers will need to wait for the full Patch 8 release to experience these improvements.

Key improvements include: persistent container contents after destruction, improved Steam Deck Photo Mode screenshotting, more responsive character poses, enhanced cross-play functionality, updated Booming Blade tooltip values, and numerous crash fixes. For a complete list of changes, visit the official Baldur's Gate 3 website.

Patch 8 is a massive update, anticipated to be one of the final major content additions before Larian moves on from Faerûn. This update includes cross-platform play, over 12 new subclasses (such as the Death Domain Cleric, Path of Giants Barbarian, and Arcane Archer Fighter), and the highly anticipated Photo Mode.

Unleash Your Inner Photographer with Photo Mode

While waiting for Patch 8, check out this in-depth video showcasing the new Photo Mode. Larian aims to empower players to maximize its potential from day one.

Photo Mode is accessible almost anywhere—during exploration, combat, and even in multiplayer (for the host). You can pose companions and characters, include or exclude party members, and even add whimsical elements like a giant frog. A free-moving camera allows for perfect shots.

Post-processing effects, stickers, and frames add further customization. Note that during dialogues and cutscenes, only post-processing effects are available.

This is just the beginning! Larian plans to release a tips and tricks video to further inspire player creativity.
