READY! for Kindergarten: The Leading School Readiness Program

READY! for Kindergarten, developed by The Children's Reading Foundation, is a top-tier school readiness program designed for children aged 2-5, and older children needing to strengthen foundational skills.

This interactive app uses engaging games to prepare your child for academic success. Each game targets a specific core skill, benefiting from repeated play—a crucial element for young learners. The app provides detailed information on each game's skill focus (access this via the "i" icon in the lower right corner of each game).

Progress tracking is built-in. The app monitors your child's performance and generates reports comparing their progress to national averages for children of similar ages. This allows for targeted support in areas where your child might need extra help.

For 2-5 year-olds, the app covers essential skills including singing the alphabet song, letter recognition (shape and sound), vocabulary expansion, counting to 30, and emotional recognition.

The READY! program is built upon 26 age-appropriate learning targets—measurable skills a typical 5-year-old should possess before kindergarten. These targets are research-based, developed over seven years by early childhood experts, collaborating with families, scientists, and educators.

READY! for Kindergarten received a Top 100 Award from District Administration Magazine in 2013.
