Star Wars: Hunters Announces Shutdown Even Before Turning One!

Star Wars: Hunters, despite not even reaching its first birthday, will celebrate its one-year anniversary before shutting down. But is an anniversary for a game nearing its demise truly worth celebrating?

When Is the Star Wars: Hunters Shutdown?

The servers officially close on October 1st, 2025, marking a short nine-month lifespan for the game. Players will have a few extra weeks to complete Season 5, which concludes on April 15th.

Developer and publisher Zynga will release one final content update on April 15th, introducing a new Support Hunter, Tuya, for free. In-game purchases will be disabled on the same day.

Ranked Mode will remain accessible until the servers shut down, and seasonal events will be rerun. Players are advised to spend any remaining Crystals, as no refunds will be offered.

A Predictable End?

While unfortunate, the shutdown of Star Wars: Hunters feels somewhat inevitable. Initially announced in 2020, the game suffered multiple delays, with beta testing limited to SEA and ANZAC regions.

A delayed launch, lack of major console support, and a muted reception all contributed to the game's demise. The design choices also seem questionable; instead of leveraging the iconic characters of the Star Wars universe, the game opted for generic original characters, a missed opportunity many feel.

If you're interested in a final playthrough, Star Wars: Hunters remains available for download on the Google Play Store until the shutdown.
