STALKER 2: PC Specs Significantly Increased

Just a week before its official launch on November 20th, STALKER 2’s final system specifications have been unveiled, and it appears the game will be quite demanding, even at minimum settings. Higher settings will require even more powerful hardware.

While the minimum specifications are relatively modest, achieving fluid gameplay at 4K resolution and high frame rates demands a potent gaming system. The "epic" settings, in particular, are so demanding that they could easily surpass the notorious performance demands of Crysis' highest settings back in 2007.

The game’s storage needs also increased from 150GB to 160GB. For PC users, an SSD is suggested, not only for storage but also for loading times crucial in a game where one wrong turn can be fatal.

When asked about upscaling techniques like Nvidia DLSS and AMD FSR, technologies that improve visual fidelity without sacrificing performance, the developers confirmed both would be included. However, the precise version of FSR to be used remains undefined.

Furthermore, the developers also confirmed in an interview with Wccftech during Gamescom 2024 that the game would incorporate software ray tracing. Regarding hardware ray tracing, however, Lead Producer Slava Lukyanenka stated, "it’s too early for us, but we are experimenting with that. We are aiming for it on the release date, but it is highly improbable you will have it at launch."

Set to launch on November 20, 2024, STALKER 2: Heart of Chornobyl will be a challenging game, especially as it offers an open-world, non-linear single-player adventure where your decisions will shape the narrative and impact the outcome of your playthrough.
