The new year in Pokémon GO brings a wave of new Pokémon, and Shroodle is the latest addition! However, unlike many previous releases, catching Shroodle isn't as simple as a wild encounter.
Shroodle's Pokémon GO Debut
The Toxic Mouse Pokémon, Shroodle, arrived in Pokémon GO on January 15, 2025, as part of the Fashion Week: Taken Over event. Originally from Pokémon Scarlet & Violet, it's a relatively new addition to the franchise. Following the event, Shroodle will remain available.
Shiny Shroodle?
At launch, Shroodle's Shiny variant is unavailable in Pokémon GO. Expect its Shiny form to appear in a future event, possibly a Poison-type or Team GO Rocket themed one.
How to Obtain Shroodle
Shroodle bucks the trend of readily available wild spawns. Instead, you'll need to hatch it from 12KM Eggs. This is currently the sole method of acquiring Shroodle.
12KM Eggs obtained from 12 AM local time on January 15th onwards have a chance to yield Shroodle. Its hatch rate is likely higher during the Fashion Week: Taken Over event, but it will remain in the 12KM egg pool afterward.
Getting 12KM Eggs
Since Shroodle is exclusive to 12KM Eggs, here's a reminder on how to obtain them:
12KM Eggs are rewarded for defeating Team GO Rocket Leaders (Sierra, Arlo, Cliff) or Giovanni. The Taken Over event provides an excellent opportunity to stockpile 12KM Eggs due to increased Team GO Rocket activity and easier Rocket Radar acquisition. However, you can battle GO Rocket Grunts to challenge the Leaders at any time, provided you have inventory space.
Acquiring Grafaiai
Grafaiai, Shroodle's evolution, also debuted on January 15th. It doesn't hatch from eggs or appear in the wild. Evolution is the only way to obtain it.
Evolution requires 50 Shroodle Candy. Hatching multiple Shroodle or using one as your buddy Pokémon are the most efficient methods to gather the necessary Candy.
Pokémon GO is currently available.
