The first wave of 2025 prebuilt gaming PCs featuring the new Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 and 5090 graphics cards is now available for purchase. You can find these systems listed at major retailers such as Best Buy, Amazon, Newegg, Adorama, and B&H Photo, starting today. This is a prime opportunity to secure a complete gaming system with these cutting-edge GPUs, as it might be a while before big OEMs like Dell (Alienware), HP (Omen), and Lenovo (Legion) release their own models, expected towards the end of the first quarter.
If you're in the market for a standalone GPU rather than a prebuilt system, you'll need to check out our dedicated RTX 5090 and 5080 preorder guide. Be aware that launch-day stock is likely to sell out rapidly, often within minutes. Retailers have already cautioned about potential inventory shortages, exacerbated by bots that snatch up GPUs to resell at inflated prices.

Dell has just launched its new Alienware Area-51 lineup of gaming PCs, available in two configurations, both featuring an Intel Core Ultra 9 285K and GeForce RTX 5080 GPU, starting at $4,449.99. However, delivery is not immediate; Dell estimates these systems will arrive by April 22.
New for 2025: The Alienware Area-51 Chassis
Dell unveiled the new Alienware Area-51 gaming PC at CES 2025. The chassis maintains a design similar to the 2024 R16 system but with minor aesthetic and cooling enhancements, along with updated components. The I/O panel is now positioned at the top of the case, and the tempered glass window spans the entire side panel. This redesign eliminates side panel vents, introducing air intakes at the bottom and front of the case for a positive airflow design, which helps keep the interior dust-free. The internal components have also been upgraded, including a new motherboard, faster RAM, and a more powerful power supply to support the latest CPUs and RTX 50 series GPUs.

Boutique PC Retailers with Built-to-Order RTX 50XX Systems
Several boutique retailers offer the option to customize systems with RTX 5090 and 5080 GPUs. Retailers such as iBuyPower, Origin PC, Maingear, Starforge Systems, NZXT, and Digital Storm have new RTX 50-series configurations available. While these built-to-order systems provide flexibility, they tend to be more expensive and less cost-effective.
Dell (Alienware), HP, and Lenovo Prebuilt PCs Coming Later
The major OEMs, Dell (Alienware), HP, and Lenovo, will not release their prebuilt gaming PCs with RTX 50-series GPUs until later in the year. Dell showcased the Alienware Area 51 at CES 2025, expected to launch with the new GPUs in the first quarter. HP plans to offer the RTX 5090 and 5080 in its flagship Omen 45L, potentially by mid to late February. Lenovo has not yet announced when it will incorporate these GPUs into its Legion Tower desktops.
Our RTX 5090 FE and 5080 FE Reviews Are Live
The Nvidia 50-series GPUs were introduced at CES 2025, with a focus on enhanced AI features over traditional raster performance. DLSS 4 technology claims to quadruple frame rates with minimal visual compromise. These new GPUs provide a modest performance increase, but opinions vary on their value compared to the RTX 40-series cards.
In our review of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 FE, Jackie Thomas noted, "The Nvidia GeForce RTX 5090 has taken the performance crown from the RTX 4090, albeit with a smaller generational uplift in traditional non-AI gaming. However, DLSS 4 delivers significant performance gains in supported games, where 75% of frames are AI-generated."
In our review of the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 FE, Jackie Thomas commented, "For those with recent high-end graphics cards, the Nvidia GeForce RTX 5080 might not be compelling due to its modest performance lead over the RTX 4080. However, DLSS 4's multi-frame generation enhances the gaming experience in supported titles. For gamers with older GPUs seeking a significant boost, the RTX 5080 is a strong choice, especially if you're comfortable with Nvidia's AI enhancements."
