Get ready for the next Pokémon GO Spotlight Hour! This Tuesday, January 7th, 2025, from 6 PM to 7 PM local time, Voltorb and Hisuian Voltorb will be the stars. This double feature means double the shiny hunting opportunities!

Prepare for a Catching Spree:

Stock up on Poké Balls, Berries, and Incense. Catching two Pokémon simultaneously requires ample supplies. Also, ensure you have sufficient Pokémon storage space to avoid interruptions during the event.

Voltorb (Kanto #100):

This Kanto region Electric-type Pokémon (#100 in the Pokédex) evolves into Electrode using 50 candies. Each catch yields 3 candies and 100 Stardust. Voltorb boasts a max CP of 1141, with 109 Attack and 111 Defense. Its optimal moveset is Spark and Discharge (5.81 DPS, 40.62 TDO), boosted in rainy weather. Remember, it's weak against Ground-type attacks (160% damage) and resistant to Electric, Flying, and Steel-type attacks (63% damage). A blue shiny variant exists.

Hisuian Voltorb (Kanto #100):

Sharing the same Pokédex number (#100), Hisuian Voltorb also evolves into Hisuian Electrode with 50 candies, offering 3 candies and 100 Stardust per catch. It also has a max CP of 1141, 111 Defense, and 109 Attack. As an Electric-type, its ideal moveset is Tackle and Thunderbolt (5.39 DPS, 37.60 TDO), enhanced in partly cloudy and rainy weather. Hisuian Voltorb takes increased damage from Bug, Fire, Ice, and Poison-type moves (160% damage), while resisting Grass, Steel, and Water-type attacks (63% damage) and other Electric-type attacks (39% damage). Its shiny form features a black body instead of orange.
