When is the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event?

The Bug Out event in *Pokemon GO* kicks off on March 26 at 10 AM local time and runs through until 8 PM local time on March 30. Over these five days, you'll have plenty of time to capture a variety of bug-type Pokemon, including many that have a Shiny form, making it a prime opportunity for Shiny hunting.

Featured Wild Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

During the Bug Out event, the following bug-type Pokemon will appear more frequently in the wild:

  • Caterpie
  • Weedle
  • Wurmple
  • Nincada
  • Venipede
  • Dwebble
  • Joltik
  • Grubbin
  • Dewpider
  • Nymble
  • Cutiefly (with Shiny potential)

New Pokemon During the Bug Out Event

Two new Pokemon will make their debut in *Pokemon GO* during the Bug Out event: Sizzlipede and its evolution, Centiskorch. You can evolve Sizzlipede into Centiskorch using 50 Sizzlipede Candy.

Featured Raid Pokemon for the Pokemon GO Bug Out Event

The Bug Out event features a variety of raids, with the following Pokemon appearing at raid gyms. Those marked with an asterisk can appear in their Shiny forms:

One-Star Raids

  • Scyther*
  • Nincada*
  • Sizzlipede

Three-Star Raids

  • Beedrill*
  • Scizor*
  • Kleavor*

All Pokemon GO Bug Out Event Bonuses

Trainers can enjoy the following bonuses during the Bug Out event:

  • Double XP for catching Pokemon with Nice Throws or better.
  • More Candy for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws.
  • More Candy XL for Nice, Great, and Excellent Throws (for Trainers over Level 31).
  • Sizzlipede can be attracted with Lure Modules.
  • Higher chance of encountering Shiny Wurmple and Shiny Venipede.
  • Additional Pokemon will appear near a lured PokeStop if enough Pokemon are caught using a single Lure Module.

Pokemon GO Bug Out Field Research, Timed Research, & Paid Time Research

Spinning PokeStops during the event will yield event-themed Field Research tasks, rewarding players with Mega Energy, Scatterbug Candy, and encounters with event Pokemon. Additionally, Timed Research offers rewards like a Lure Module and encounters with event Pokemon, while Paid Timed Research includes a Lure Module, two Premium Battle Passes, and encounters with event Pokemon. Both types of research must be completed and rewards claimed before the event concludes.
