Microsoft Unveils Robust Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 Lineup

Microsoft's Xbox Wire preempts the January 23rd Xbox Developer Direct with a sneak peek at the upcoming Xbox Game Pass January 2025 Wave 2 additions. The announcement highlights several day-one Game Pass titles, including Doom: The Dark Ages, South of Midnight, Clair Obscur: Expedition 33, and a yet-to-be-revealed fourth game.

The Wave 2 launch begins January 21st with Lonely Mountains: Snow Riders (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), a day-one release for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass. This snowy sequel to Lonely Mountains: Downhill features up to eight-player cross-platform multiplayer, allowing players to conquer the slopes cooperatively or competitively.

January 22nd sees a flurry of additions:

• Flock (Console) joins Game Pass Standard, offering a cooperative multiplayer experience centered on collecting adorable flying creatures.
• Gigantic: Rampage Edition (Cloud, Console, and PC) arrives on Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard, providing a definitive 5v5 MOBA hero shooter experience.
• Kunitsu-Gami: Path of the Goddess (Console) launches on Game Pass Standard, a unique Japanese-inspired single-player action strategy game.
• Magical Delicacy (Console) and The Case of the Golden Idol (Console) also debut on Game Pass Standard on January 22nd.
• Tchia (Xbox Series X|S) makes its Game Pass Standard debut.

January 28th welcomes two day-one titles:

• Eternal Strands (Cloud, Console, and PC) for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a fantasy action-adventure game from Yellow Brick Games, featuring industry veterans from renowned franchises.
• Orcs Must Die! Deathtrap (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S) for Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, a third-person shooter and trap defense game supporting up to four players.

Shady Part of Me (Cloud, Console, and PC) joins Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass, and Game Pass Standard on January 29th, offering a poignant journey through surreal dreamscapes.

A significant addition arrives January 30th: Sniper Elite: Resistance (Cloud, Console, and PC), a day-one release on Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass, bringing the award-winning sniping experience to occupied France, playable in co-op.

Citizen Sleeper 2: Starward Vector (Cloud, PC, and Xbox Series X|S), a day-one Game Pass Ultimate and PC Game Pass release on January 31st, continues the critically acclaimed dice-driven RPG saga.
