Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC's Blessing of Marika: A Mimic Tear Game Changer

Many Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree DLC players overlook a game-changing mechanic: equipping the Blessing of Marika allows your Mimic Tear summon to fully heal itself during tough boss fights. Since the DLC's release, the Blessing of Marika's usefulness has been debated, with many players mistakenly consuming it, believing it to be a single-use item.

The Shadow of the Erdtree DLC, while praised in some areas, has received mixed Steam reviews. Criticisms include underwhelming loot, uninspired open-world sections, and challenging combat. This makes the Blessing of Marika's functionality even more crucial for struggling players.

As Twitch streamer ZiggyPrincess demonstrated, the Blessing of Marika offers far greater utility than initially perceived. Unlike the Mimic Tear's previous self-healing method (Raw Meat Dumplings, restoring only 50% HP), the Blessing of Marika provides complete HP restoration.

Using the Blessing of Marika with your Mimic Tear

To utilize this feature, equip the Blessing of Marika in your Quick Items slot (where flasks, Spectral Seeds, and Spirit Summons are located). Summoning the Mimic Tear will automatically enable its use as needed. Crucially, the Mimic Tear has unlimited access to the Blessing of Marika, unlike other consumables.

The Blessing of Marika's early appearance in the Gravesite Plains of Elden Ring: Shadow of the Erdtree has caused confusion. Its flask-like appearance often leads to accidental consumption. Fortunately, multiple Blessings of Marika can be obtained; players who used their first one can acquire more by defeating a Tree Sentinel or finding them at Fort of Reprimand.
