Xbox's popular racing game, Forza Horizon 5, is making its way to PlayStation!
In a surprising announcement, Playground Games revealed that the latest installment in the Forza Horizon series will be arriving on PS5 this spring. This marks another Xbox exclusive making the jump to PlayStation, following titles like Sea of Thieves and Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny.
Developed by Panic Button in collaboration with Turn 10 Studios and Playground Games, the PS5 version will boast the same comprehensive content as its Xbox and PC counterparts. This includes all car packs and expansions, such as the exhilarating Hot Wheels and the challenging Rally Adventure.
This move reflects Xbox's growing strategy of expanding its game reach beyond its own consoles. Xbox boss Phil Spencer has publicly confirmed the company's commitment to supporting the Nintendo Switch 2, further highlighting this broader platform approach.Recent investor calls revealed that while Indiana Jones and the Dial of Destiny attracted 4 million players and PC Game Pass subscriptions saw a 30% increase, boosting services revenue by 2%, overall gaming revenue experienced a decline due to a nearly 30% drop in console sales. This shift may be prompting Xbox to prioritize Game Pass and increase its presence on other platforms.
Forza Horizon 5 continues the acclaimed open-world racing series. Offering a more arcade-style experience compared to its simulation-focused sibling, Forza Motorsport, Forza Horizon 5 invites players to race and explore the stunning landscapes of Mexico. Read our full review here.
