Moth Lake offers a story-driven adventure packed with over 20,000 words of text and more than 300 unique scenarios. The narrative takes you on a journey through mystery, horror, and the emotional landscapes of its characters. While the game delves into dark and sad themes, it also includes absurd humor and bizarre dialogues, making it hard to categorize strictly as a horror game.

Set in a 2.5D world, the main characters interact with numerous hotspots and NPCs, using various actions to solve diverse puzzles. The game's modern pixel art boasts a vibrant color palette and detailed frame-by-frame animations, covering actions like talking, walking, running, and more. Enhanced with modern lighting, shading, particle effects, and parallax, the game creates an immersive 3D-like environment.

Featuring six main characters and over 50 NPCs, each with unique appearances and personalities, players can control up to seven characters in the main storyline, and more in additional chapters.
