Glauco Longhi, a character artist and game developer with a history on both God of War (2018) and Ragnarok, recently rejoined Santa Monica Studio. His LinkedIn profile reveals he's overseeing character development for an "unannounced project." This strongly suggests a new game IP is in the works.

Longhi's profile states he's "Supervising/Directing Character development on an unannounced project," and further notes his role in raising the studio's character development standards.

Adding fuel to the speculation, Cory Barlog, creative director of the 2018 God of War reboot, previously indicated the studio was working on multiple projects. Furthermore, Santa Monica Studio's recent recruitment efforts, including searches for a character artist and tools programmer, point to a growing team and an ongoing, significant development effort.

Rumors of a new sci-fi IP, potentially helmed by God of War 3's Stig Asmussen, have circulated. While unconfirmed, Sony's trademark of "Intergalactic The Heretic Prophet" earlier this year adds to the intrigue.
