Rumor: Nintendo Switch 2 Logo Leaked

A purported Nintendo Switch 2 logo leak may have revealed the console's official name. Rumors and leaks surrounding Nintendo's next console have been circulating since President Shuntaro Furukawa confirmed its existence in early 2024. A full unveiling is anticipated before March 2025, with a launch expected later this year.

The timing of the new console's release has been widely speculated since Furukawa's May 2024 announcement, but Nintendo has remained relatively quiet. While the name "Nintendo Switch 2" isn't officially confirmed, most leaks point towards it. Many also suggest a similar design to the original Switch, making a direct sequel name logical.

According to Comicbook, a logo nearly identical to the original Switch's, featuring stylized Joy-Cons above the text "Nintendo Switch," has surfaced online. Shared on Bluesky by Universo Nintendo's Necro Felipe, the only significant difference is a "2" added next to the Joy-Cons, seemingly confirming the widely-used placeholder name.

However, confirmation is pending official verification. Some remain skeptical, pointing to Nintendo's history of unconventional naming conventions (e.g., the Wii U). The Wii U's less-conventional name is believed by some to have negatively impacted sales, potentially prompting a more straightforward approach with the Switch 2.

Previous leaks appear to support Felipe's claims, but gamers should avoid treating these rumors as definitive until an official announcement. A recent social media post hints at a potentially imminent reveal.
