The video explores the holiday's origins, weaving together the Dwarven myth of Greatfather Winter (a Titan-forged giant), Tauren traditions of gratitude and renewal, and the modern commercialization of the holiday by the Goblin-run Smokeywood Pastures.

A Hilarious History: Metzen the Reindeer

No account of Winter Veil would be complete without mentioning Metzen the Reindeer, named after former Warcraft creative director Chris Metzen. This unfortunate reindeer boasts a history of three separate kidnappings: by pirates and Dark Iron Dwarves in Classic WoW, and by the Grinch in the current iteration. The video concludes with a humorous thank you from Metzen, voiced in Thrall's iconic tone (a fitting tribute, as Metzen voiced the Orc Shaman).
