While the previous generation Sony XM4 was already exceptional, the XM5 introduces crucial improvements in noise cancellation and comfort. It's equipped with a second processor and twice the number of microphones dedicated to eliminating ambient noise. The redesigned earcups fit more snugly, enhancing passive noise isolation. The noise-canceling capabilities surpass those of the XM4 and most other headsets in its price range.

The Sony WH-1000XM5 also features a sleeker redesign with an updated headband adjustment mechanism.
