Sony PlayStation State of Play Reportedly Set for Next Week

Sony's February PlayStation State of Play is reportedly scheduled for next week. Leaker NateTheHate, who correctly predicted the Nintendo Switch 2 reveal date, hints at a State of Play airing during Valentine's Day week (February 10-14).

Speculation abounds regarding Sony's announcements. Several first-party titles slated for 2025 release are strong contenders. Sucker Punch's Ghost of Yotei could receive a gameplay showcase and release date reveal. Bungie's Marathon, a PvP extraction shooter, might also appear, particularly if playtesting is planned for this year. Haven Studios' debut title, Fairgames, and Insomniac's Marvel's Wolverine are other possibilities, though less likely for major reveals at this time. A new trailer for Hideo Kojima's Death Stranding 2: On the Beach is a more probable inclusion.

Notably absent will be the recently canceled live-service titles from Bend Studio and Bluepoint Games (the latter reportedly a God of War live-service game). However, Guerrilla Games' live-service Horizon project reportedly survived the cuts; a reveal might finally be imminent.

Regarding third-party titles, Kojima's Physint (a stealth-action exclusive) seems premature for a major reveal, while Phantom Blade Zero (a hack-and-slash RPG from S-Game) is a more likely candidate.

Microsoft's presence is also noteworthy. A release date for Indiana Jones and the Great Circle on PS5 is possible, and the announcement of Halo on PlayStation remains a lingering possibility.

Last year's State of Play featured Death Stranding 2, Physint, Rise of the Ronin, the Until Dawn remaster, Stellar Blade, Dragon's Dogma 2, Sonic x Shadow Generations, several Silent Hill projects, Ken Levine's Judas, Foamstars, and Helldivers 2. This provides a useful benchmark for predicting this year's announcements.
