Sonic Rumble, though not yet globally launched, has kicked off with an exciting crossover event dubbed "Crossover Event #0: SEGA Stars," running now until May 7th, just ahead of its worldwide release on May 8th. Currently in soft launch across over 40 countries, the game had its initial pre-launch phase in Summer 2024 in regions including the Philippines, Scandinavian countries, and Colombia. The second pre-launch phase extended to countries like Canada, Turkey, Malaysia, and South Africa.
What’s in Store?
If you’re lucky enough to be in a region where Sonic Rumble is in soft launch, you can dive into the SEGA Stars crossover. The event brings back the Altered Beast crew, offering the Werewolf transformation for free. Nostalgic fans can also grab the Werebear and Weredragon transformations, with Weredragon available through the Premium Pass and Werebear possibly purchasable with regular rings.
Fantasy Zone enthusiasts will enjoy the addition of Opa-Opa and Upa-Upa. Opa-Opa is included in the Premium Pass, while Upa-Upa can be obtained through fragments bought with standard rings, at 700 rings per fragment.
Super Monkey Ball's AiAi and MeeMee have also joined the fray. To get AiAi, you'll need to spend 729 Red Star Rings. For a sneak peek at the event, check out the video below:
Earn Exclusive Goodies During the Sonic Rumble SEGA Stars Crossover
During matches, players can collect SEGA logos to earn additional rewards. While it might seem unusual for the event to be active before the global release, SEGA has assured that most pre-release rewards will be available again later.
This first crossover event of Sonic Rumble showcases a delightful blend of SEGA's iconic characters, from monkeys and sentient arcade ships to powerful were-creatures, all interacting with Sonic and his friends. This mix makes Sonic Rumble a promising addition to the mobile gaming scene.
You can download Sonic Rumble from the Google Play Store if it's available in your region, or wait for its global launch on May 8th.
