Pokémon GO Event Unveils Highly Anticipated Feature

Pokémon GO Fashion Week: Remote Raid Passes Arrive in Shadow Raids!

Pokémon GO trainers can rejoice! For the first time, remote raid passes will be usable in Shadow Raids during the upcoming Fashion Week: Taken Over event. This highly requested feature, absent since Shadow Raids launched in 2023, will be available for a limited time only.

Key Highlights:

  • Remote Raid Access: Utilize remote raid passes to participate in one-star, three-star, and five-star Shadow Raids from January 15th, 12:00 a.m. to January 19th, 8:00 p.m. local time.
  • Improved IVs: Shadow Raids offer a heightened chance of catching Pokémon with superior Individual Values (IVs).
  • Shiny Shadow Ho-Oh Raid Day: A special Shadow Ho-Oh raid day on January 19th (2:00 p.m. - 5:00 p.m. local time) provides boosted shiny encounter rates and the opportunity to teach Ho-Oh the Sacred Fire charged attack. Charged TMs can also be used to remove Frustration from Shadow Pokémon.
  • Temporary Feature: This is a temporary event-exclusive feature. Remote raid passes will not be usable in Shadow Raids after the Fashion Week event concludes.

Niantic's decision to temporarily introduce remote raid passes for Shadow Raids addresses player feedback regarding the challenges of in-person participation in raids, particularly for higher-level encounters. While the future use of remote passes in Shadow Raids remains uncertain, this limited-time event offers a welcome change for many players.
