People Can Fly, the acclaimed developer behind Bulletstorm and a co-developer of the much-anticipated Gears of War: E-Day, has entered into a significant agreement with Sony Interactive Entertainment. The deal involves the creation of a new game, codenamed Project Delta, which will be developed as a work-for-hire project. Although details about Project Delta remain under wraps, this collaboration marks another exciting venture for People Can Fly.
The studio is currently juggling a diverse portfolio of projects, each with intriguing codenames. Alongside Project Delta, they are working on Project Gemini in partnership with Square Enix, Project Echo with Krafton, and Project Red, which also seems to be linked with Sony. Additionally, the studio recently announced that Project Bison will be their final venture into virtual reality.
However, it hasn't been all smooth sailing for People Can Fly. Last December, they had to suspend work on Project Victoria and scale down efforts on Project Bifrost. Earlier in April, the studio also decided to cancel Project Dagger, an action-adventure game developed in collaboration with Take-Two Interactive.
Despite these setbacks, People Can Fly remains highly active with a total of eight projects in development. Among these, fans eagerly await updates on Gears of War: E-Day, developed in partnership with The Coalition. While no release date has been set for Gears of War: E-Day, Project Gemini, the game developed with Square Enix, is slated for a 2026 release.
