How To Get Paradisan Ladder in Avowed
There are five primary ways to obtain Paradisan Ladder in Avowed: purchasing from Merilyn, foraging in the wild and cities, earning it as a side quest reward, breaking down existing items, and downgrading Hylea's Talon.
Merylin the Merchant

Merilyn, located in South Paradise (see map above), offers the fastest guaranteed method. She typically stocks five Paradisan Ladder units at 150 coins each. She also sells the Many-Hued Doublet and the Common Grimoire of Elements, both of which yield additional Paradisan Ladder when broken down (two units each). Note that her inventory doesn't seem to replenish after selling out.
Find Paradisan Ladder When Exploring in the Wild & in Cities

Paradisan Ladder plants appear in the wild and occasionally in cities like Paradise. Look for the plant icon on your mini-map (red circle in image above). While other plants may resemble it, actively searching your immediate surroundings while progressing through quests provides a steady, free supply.
Side Quests
Avowed's difficulty curve encourages side quests, many of which reward crafting materials, including Paradisan Ladder. For example, the early quest "Escape Plan" often yields two units. Completing side quests provides additional Paradisan Ladder while earning experience and other rewards.
Breaking Down Items
You can dismantle items in Avowed to recover base materials like Softwood Branches and Iron Chunks. Higher-quality items upgraded with Paradisan Ladder will return some of the herb upon dismantling. Check merchant inventories for unique items listing Paradisan Ladder in their breakdown description.
Downgrading Hylea’s Talon Into Paradisan Ladder

Once you reach Emerald Stair and acquire Hylea's Talon (a higher-tier material), you can downgrade each unit into three Paradisan Ladder units at your party camp workbench. Navigate to the "Crafting" tab, then switch from "Upgrade Materials" to the downgrade section. This is particularly useful for quickly upgrading weapons if you change your build.
