Orna, the fantasy RPG and GPS MMO from Northern Forge Studios, is launching a unique in-game event, Terra's Legacy, to combat real-world environmental pollution. From September 9th to 19th, players will fight pollution-themed enemies and contribute to real-world cleanup efforts.
Fighting Pollution, One Gaia Apple at a Time
Terra's Legacy seamlessly blends virtual gameplay with real-world environmental action. Players locate and report polluted or littered areas within Orna, transforming them into in-game "Gloomsites." These Gloomsites are then populated with the Murk, representing pollution, providing a unique gaming experience reminiscent of classic environmental animation films.
Defeating the Murk raises awareness of real-world pollution. Players can then plant virtual trees and grow Gaia apples in these same locations. These apples serve as both character customization items and magical ability boosts, creating a collaborative reward system. The more players participate, the cleaner both the game world and the real world become.
