Netmarble's popular action RPG, King of Fighters ALLSTAR, is set to conclude its run in October 2024, specifically on October 30th. The announcement, made on the official Netmarble forums, came as a surprise to many fans. Even more disappointing is the news that the in-game store closed on June 26th, 2024, ending the opportunity for further in-app purchases.

The game, which has been available for over six years, featured numerous high-profile fighting game crossovers built upon the iconic King of Fighters franchise from SNK. Despite generally positive player reviews praising its smooth animations and engaging PvP battles, and achieving millions of downloads across Google Play and the App Store, the developers hinted at a potential shortage of characters to adapt as a contributing factor to the shutdown. Further, recent optimization issues and unexpected crashes may have also played a role.

While the exact reasons remain somewhat unclear, players still have approximately four months to experience the game's legendary battles before the servers shut down.
