Official website data reveals surprising character popularity in Marvel Rivals. In "quick play," Jeff reigned supreme, outperforming Venom and Cloak & Dagger. However, competitive play painted a different picture. On PC, Luna Snow, Cloak & Dagger, and Mantis led the pack, while console players favored Cloak & Dagger, Penny Parker, and Mantis.

A curious twist: Mantis, the most popular competitive character, also suffered the most defeats. She dominated both PC and console leaderboards, surpassing Hela, Loki, and Magic. On consoles, Mantis's success was mirrored by fourteen other characters boasting win rates exceeding 50%.

Conversely, some characters lagged in popularity. Storm, Black Widow, and Wolverine trailed in "quick play," while Nemore occupied the bottom rung in competitive matches.

Marvel Rivals, after receiving over 500 mods in a single month, is now facing controversy. Nexus Mods' removal of modifications replacing Captain America's head with Donald Trump and Joe Biden images sparked considerable user backlash.

Nexus Mods' owner, TheDarkOne, addressed the situation in a private Reddit discussion. He explained that to avoid accusations of bias, both Trump and Biden-related mods were removed concurrently. The removal of the Biden mod, he stated, coincided with the removal of the Trump mod to maintain neutrality.

Curiously, this event has received little to no coverage from YouTube gaming channels.
