Minecraft Fractions: Simplifying Division Visually

Author: Mila Dec 30,2024

Relive the classic couch co-op experience with Minecraft! This guide shows you how to enjoy split-screen gameplay on your Xbox One or other compatible console. Gather your friends, grab some snacks, and let's get started!

Important Considerations:

Minecraft split-screen is a console-exclusive feature. PC players won't find this option. You'll need a TV or monitor supporting HD (720p) resolution, and your console must also support this resolution. HDMI connection automatically adjusts resolution; VGA may require manual adjustment in your console's settings.

Local Split-Screen Gameplay (Up to 4 Players):

  1. Connect your console: Use an HDMI cable for optimal results.

  2. Launch Minecraft: Choose "New Game" or load an existing world. Crucially, disable multiplayer mode in the settings.

  3. Configure your world: Select difficulty, game rules, and world options. Skip this if loading a saved world.

  4. Start the game: Press the start button.

  5. Add players: This step varies by console. On PlayStation, typically press the "Options" button twice. On Xbox, it's usually the "Start" button. Each player will need to log into their account.

  6. Enjoy split-screen! The screen will automatically divide into sections (2-4 players).

Online Multiplayer with Local Split-Screen:

While you can't directly split-screen with online players, you can combine local split-screen with online friends. Follow steps 1-4 above, but enable multiplayer mode before starting. Then, send invitations to your online friends to join your game.
