Marvel Rivals has officially reversed its planned mid-season rank reset, as announced in Dev Talk 11 on their Twitter (X) account. This follows considerable player backlash to Dev Talk 10, which detailed a system resetting player ranks by four divisions every 45 days (mid-season). Players voiced concerns that this system was discouraging, especially for those actively climbing the ranks.

Dev Talk 11 confirms that there will be no mid-season rank reset. Players will retain their end-of-first-half-season rank and score. End-of-season rank resets will still occur, dropping players six divisions.

Human Torch, The Thing, and More Still Coming

Despite the reversal on the mid-season reset, other planned updates remain on track. The release of new heroes Human Torch and The Thing is proceeding as scheduled, expanding the roster to 39 heroes. NetEase Games continues to target two new playable characters per three-month season.

Rewards for players reaching Gold rank and above remain unchanged. Players achieving Gold rank will receive a free Invisible Woman costume, while Grandmaster and above receive Crests of Honor. Additional rewards, including another free costume and Crests of Honor (for Grandmaster and above), will be awarded at the end of the season.

Balance adjustments are also planned for a post-mid-season update, though specifics are yet to be revealed.

Marvel Rivals' swift response to player feedback is notable. Within hours of publishing Dev Talk 10, they addressed concerns and released Dev Talk 11.
