Konami producer Noriaki Okamura recently hinted to IGN about the possibility of a Metal Gear Solid 4: Guns of the Patriots remake within MGS Master Collection Vol. 2, alongside next-gen console ports. While acknowledging the considerable fan anticipation, Okamura remained cautious about revealing concrete details. He stated that Konami is internally evaluating the future of the series and therefore couldn't offer specifics at this time.

The possibility of an MGS4 remake for PS5, Xbox Series X/S, and potentially PC, has been a subject of much fan discussion. The release of Metal Gear Solid: Master Collection Vol. 1, encompassing remastered versions of the first three games for various platforms, has fueled this speculation.

Rumors intensified last year after placeholder buttons for MGS4, MGS5, and Metal Gear Solid: Peace Walker appeared on Konami's official timeline, suggesting their inclusion in Master Collection Vol. 2. Further fueling the speculation, David Hayter, the English voice actor for Solid Snake, hinted at his involvement in an MGS4-related project on social media.
