The Kinetic Blade, a fan-favorite weapon from Chapter 4 Season 2, returns to Fortnite Battle Royale in Chapter 6 Season 1 (Fortnite Hunters). This isn't the only Katana available; players can choose between the Kinetic Blade and the new Typhoon Blade.
This guide explains how to find and use the Kinetic Blade, helping you decide if it's a superior choice to the Typhoon Blade.
How to Find the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade appears in both Battle Royale Build and Zero Build modes. Search for it as floor loot or inside standard and Rare chests.
Currently, the Kinetic Blade's drop rate seems relatively low. The absence of dedicated Kinetic Blade stands (only Typhoon Blade stands exist) further reduces its in-game availability.
How to Use the Kinetic Blade in Fortnite
The Kinetic Blade is a melee weapon enabling swift movement and surprise attacks.
Unlike the Typhoon Blade, which requires sprinting for increased speed, the Kinetic Blade utilizes a Dash Attack for a forward lunge. This attack inflicts 60 damage on impact and can be used up to three times before needing a recharge.
Alternatively, the Knockback Slash deals 35 damage and knocks back opponents. Opponents thrown by this attack risk fall damage, potentially leading to elimination.
