Gothic Remake Unveils New Protag Niras, Debuts at Steam Next Fest

Alkimia Interactive, the creators of the highly anticipated Gothic 1 Remake, have provided journalists with early access to a new demo. Originally planned for Gamescom, this demo will soon be available to the public.

This preview features a new protagonist, Niras, instead of the original Nameless Hero. Niras, a fellow prisoner, arrives in the Miners' Valley, interacting with its inhabitants and setting the scene for the game's overarching story.

A previous Gamescom 2024 demo showcased Niras' arrival and introduction to the Colony. This expanded demo, soon to be released, offers a more extensive look at the revamped Gothic world. Both the demo and the full game are almost entirely rebuilt, promising increased playtime, enhanced orc interactions, and improved immersion. Expect a significantly richer experience than the original.

The Gothic 1 Remake demo will debut on Steam during the Steam Next Fest, available for free from the evening of February 24th to the evening of March 3rd. Following this period, access will be revoked. The complete Gothic 1 Remake is slated for release later this year on PC (Steam, GOG), PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S.
