Feral Interactive Drops the Imperium Update for ROME: Total War

Exciting news for fans of the classic strategy game, ROME: Total War, on Android! Feral Interactive has just released the massive Imperium Update, enhancing your gameplay experience with a slew of new features and improvements. If you've been enjoying this timeless game since its Android debut in 2018, you're in for a treat. And don't worry if you're a fan of the standalone expansions, Barbarian Invasion and Alexander; they're set to receive the same update next week.

What Does the Imperium Update Bring to ROME: Total War?

The Imperium Update brings some of the most beloved features from Feral's newer mobile titles, such as Total War: MEDIEVAL II and EMPIRE, directly to ROME: Total War. You'll now have access to three new control options: Positioning Mode, Melee Mode, and Automatic Deselection. These additions offer you enhanced control over your units, making battles more strategic and precise. Now, you can easily move your army, agents, or fleets by simply tapping and holding, eliminating the need to manually drag paths.

With the new Positioning Mode, you can fine-tune the placement of your units with ease by tapping and holding. The Group Grid feature simplifies managing unit groups with a handy collapsible selection menu. Melee Mode is a game-changer, allowing your ranged units to switch to close combat when the situation demands it.

One of the most significant enhancements is the Command Slowdown feature, which automatically slows the game down when you're issuing complex orders, giving you more time to strategize. And for the first time, ROME: Total War on Android (and iPad) now supports keyboard and mouse, offering a more familiar control scheme for some players.

The minimap has also been revamped to resemble the one in MEDIEVAL II, with smoother zooming and navigation. A new reset button allows you to quickly return to the default view, making it easier to keep track of the battlefield.
