New Feature in Development for Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 to Enhance Challenge Tracking

Call of Duty: Black Ops 6 Update: Challenge Tracking and More on the Horizon

Treyarch has confirmed development of a highly requested feature for Black Ops 6: in-game challenge tracking. This functionality, present in 2023's Modern Warfare 3, was notably absent from Black Ops 6's initial release, disappointing many players. While a specific release date remains unannounced, the upcoming Season 2 update later this month hints at a potential near-term arrival.

A recent January 9th update addressed various bug fixes across Multiplayer and Zombies modes. Multiplayer saw UI and audio improvements, along with an XP boost for the Red Light, Green Light mode. Significantly, Treyarch reversed a controversial Zombies change from the January 3rd update, restoring the original round timing and zombie spawn mechanics in Directed Mode following player feedback.

Challenge Tracking Feature Confirmed

Separate from the patch notes, Treyarch directly addressed fan requests on Twitter. The studio confirmed that in-game challenge tracking is "currently in the works." This is a significant development, as the feature's absence was a major point of contention among players, particularly those pursuing Mastery camos. The anticipated functionality, mirroring Modern Warfare 3, will provide real-time challenge progress updates within the game's UI, eliminating the need to wait until match completion for progress checks.

Additional Improvements in Development

Treyarch also acknowledged another highly sought-after improvement: separate HUD settings for Multiplayer and Zombies. The studio stated that this feature is "also in the works," addressing player frustration with constantly adjusting HUD preferences between game modes. These upcoming changes suggest a continued commitment to enhancing the Black Ops 6 experience based on player feedback.
