In the thrilling co-op horror game, R.E.P.O., your primary objective is simple yet terrifying: retrieve valuable items and escape with your lives intact. This proves easier said than done, as hordes of monsters relentlessly hunt you, their spawns unpredictable in each location. Successfully extract your loot, however, and the game—and the menacing AI Taxman—rewards your efforts handsomely, allowing you to stock up on crucial survival gear with your hard-earned cash.
Securing those valuable items requires locating and reaching the Extraction Point. Here, your C.A.R.T. of treasures is tallied, and the Taxman determines what you can carry to the Service Station—hopefully, a substantial amount of cash to spend.
As you progress through R.E.P.O., the extraction process becomes routine. What initially seems daunting quickly becomes second nature as you conquer more levels and overcome increasingly challenging monster encounters.
How to Extract in R.E.P.O.
Your first R.E.P.O. run features a single Extraction Point. However, as you progress to new locations, this number increases, with a current maximum of four. A handy red number in the top-right corner of your screen keeps track of the total drop-offs required and those already completed.
Initially, the Extraction Point is conveniently located near your R.E.P.O. truck—a location that remains constant. After your first successful drop-off, things become more challenging. The Taxman's demands and the next drop-off location are unknown. This is where your in-game map becomes invaluable. Pressing "Tab" reveals unexplored areas, aiding route planning and allowing for coordinated team efforts (if playing with others) to cover more ground simultaneously.
The next Extraction Point's location becomes apparent upon arrival in the vicinity, either visually or audibly. Once located, press the large red button. This reveals your fate and whether you've collected enough. If you have, place your C.A.R.T. within the designated grey area to avoid item destruction. Repeat this process for each Extraction Point until the final one is reached. Note that after the last drop-off, you don't need to return the C.A.R.T. to the truck; a new one will appear in the next location/level.
