Marvel Contest of Champions is set to bring a wave of thrilling updates and new champions to the game this April, headlined by the introduction of Spider-Woman and Lumatrix.

Here’s the Backstory of Spider-Woman in the World of Marvel Contest of Champions

Spider-Woman, known as Jessica Drew, faced a life-altering event as a child when she was exposed to uranium near her home. Her father, a renowned geneticist, attempted a daring experiment by injecting her with a concoction of spider DNA to counteract the effects. After a lengthy recovery, Jessica not only overcame the adverse effects but also emerged with extraordinary spider powers, transforming her into Spider-Woman. Players can look forward to adding this new champion to their roster starting April 17th.

Before Spider-Woman's arrival, players will encounter Lumatrix on April 9th. Known as one of the most lethal assassins crafted by the Founders, Lumatrix specializes in infiltration and assassination, utilizing his unique light-based powers to devastating effect.

What Else Is New?

On the narrative front, Act 9 Chapter 2, dubbed "Inquisition," unfolds with Carina suffering severe injuries from a clash with Ouroborus forces. Amidst this turmoil, Doctor Doom aligns with the Fantastic Four to combat the spreading corruption caused by the Chronoserpent. A new villain, Lotan, also emerges, adding another layer of intrigue to the storyline.

April 9th also marks the start of the new Event Quest, "Spy Games," which will run until May 7th. Black Widow takes the lead in investigating the enigmatic Eidols, enlisting the help of Spider-Woman to unravel the mystery.

Dark Phoenix makes a return in the Side Quest "Dark Bounties," where she has placed bounties on various Champions. Players must track them down to claim their rewards.

Additionally, the "Incursions: Dark Phoenix Saga Sector" is making a comeback, offering players the chance to deploy their strongest Saga champions to earn Dark Plumes, Light Essence, Tier 7 Basic Fragments, and 7-Star Class Signature Stones.
