"Elden Ring Nightreign: Scalpers and Scammers Target Game"

Author: Lucy Mar 28,2025

FromSoftware has kicked off the excitement for Elden Ring Nightreign by sending out confirmation emails for the upcoming network test. Fans eagerly shared their confirmation emails on social media, buzzing with anticipation and thanking FromSoftware for the opportunity to participate in this pre-launch event. If you're one of the lucky ones, mark your calendar for February 11, 2025, when you'll receive a unique code to download the Network Test client on your PlayStation 5 or Xbox Series X|S.

Registration for the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test was open from January 10 to January 20, 2025. Unfortunately, if you didn't receive an email, there's no word yet on additional test dates. The network test, running from February 14 to February 16, 2025, is designed to verify the game's online systems and server capabilities through large-scale load tests. Participants can join any of the five scheduled 3-hour sessions:

  • Session 1 - February 14th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
  • Session 2 - February 14th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT
  • Session 3 - February 15th from 11 AM to 2 PM PT
  • Session 4 - February 16th from 3 AM to 6 AM PT
  • Session 5 - February 16th from 7 PM to 10 PM PT

However, the excitement is marred by the swift action of scammers and scalpers. Reports indicate a scam circulating on Steam where players receive fake invites to the Elden Ring Nightreign Network Test. Clicking these invites can lead to account hacking and mass spamming of friends. FromSoftware has clarified that all legitimate communications regarding the playtest are only through their official website and social media, so be wary of any external links.

Additionally, scalpers are already listing "confirmed test codes" on various online marketplaces, with prices ranging from $150 to $200, and some even up for auction. Remember, these codes won't be available until February 11, so any listings before then are certainly scams.

Elden Ring Nightreign was announced at the Game Awards 2024 and is slated for a 2025 release on PlayStation 4, PlayStation 5, Windows, Xbox One, and Xbox Series X/S, though an exact date hasn't been revealed yet. Stay updated with the latest on Elden Ring Nightreign by visiting our dedicated page.
