Recently, Hideo Kojima presented actress Shiori Kutsuna with flowers, acknowledging her contributions to the game's development. Kojima's message expressed gratitude for Kutsuna's dedication, highlighting her work on motion capture in Los Angeles, 3D scanning, and voice recording (both Japanese and English) across various locations, overcoming pandemic-related challenges.
Reports indicate Kutsuna has been involved with Death Stranding 2 since Fall 2022.
At Tokyo Game Show 2024, Kojima showcased Death Stranding 2: On the Beach footage. Two-minute cutscenes revealed several key allies of the protagonist. Notable appearances include: George Miller as Tarman, captain of the tar-lake traversing mobile base Magellan; Fatih Akin as Dollman, a former medium now a living doll; and Léa Seydoux's return as Fragile.
Elle Fanning portrays Tomorrow, a mysterious character discovered in a location resembling the afterlife. This is intriguing, given the original Death Stranding tagline: "Tomorrow is in your hands."
One scene features the characters singing Burt Bacharach and Hal David's "Raindrops Keep Fallin' on My Head" while interacting with a pregnant woman named Rainy (played by Shiori Kutsuna).
