Unlocking All Dark Instruments in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth

Goro Majima's "Sea Dog" fighting style in Like a Dragon: Infinite Wealth boasts four devastating finishers, but acquiring all the Dark Instruments to unlock them is a journey. This guide details the steps to obtain each instrument.

The Dark God's Violin

This is the first, and story-essential, Dark Instrument. It's obtained during Chapter 2, following a new waypoint provided by Jason. This leads to a confrontation with the Devil Flag pirates, culminating in a battle to reclaim the Pharaoh Stone. Defeating the Devil Flag fleet unlocks the Violin. A subsequent 100-enemy brawl lets you test your new finisher. This also introduces the four Devil Flag Captains (Yakuza, Ronin, Shinobi, and Zeus), initiating the side quest to collect all Dark Instruments.

The Dark God's Ocarina

Collecting 70 Devil Flags unlocks Atali Island. This island presents multiple waves of enemies, leading to a treasure chest containing the Ocarina. However, you must defeat Devil Flag Captain Yakuza first.

The Dark God's Guitar

After defeating Captain Yakuza, a series of events leads to Flame Island. This requires at least a three-star ranking and 130 Devil Flags. Conquering four treasure islands (Sunset, Heatwave, Welldone, and Scorching Heat) and another fleet battle precedes a confrontation with Captain Ronin on Flame Island. Defeating Ronin grants you the Guitar. Note that treasure islands have limited health item usage.

The Dark God's Saxophone

A Pirate Rank Four and 220 Devil Flags are needed. Navigating to the Frost Entrance Lighthouse initiates a battle with the Devil Flag fleet guarding Frost Island. Four more islands (Snowview, Coldwave, Icicle Island, and Glacial) must be cleared. Defeating Captain Shinobi's fleet and the subsequent island battles, including a final boss fight against Shinobi, unlocks the Saxophone. A final, challenging two-stage battle against Zeus follows, though this isn't required for obtaining all four instruments.
