How To Find and Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Essence Stones are a new addition to *Fields of Mistria*, introduced in the March 2025 update. These stones are essential for several new features, making them a valuable resource for daily tasks. This guide covers finding, crafting, and using Essence Stones of various sizes.

Where to Find Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

Since the March 2025 update, Essence Stones can be found within chests located throughout the mines in *Fields of Mistria*. While I first discovered one while searching for offering items to break the Fire Seal on Floor 60, they can appear on any level and in various biomes. Beware of mimic enemies disguised as chests—interaction will result in damage.

Essence Stones come in four sizes: tiny, small, medium, and large. Smaller stones are more common, but larger ones can be found with diligent searching. If you're struggling to find them, you can craft them after constructing the Stone Refinery within the mines.

How to Craft Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The Stone Refinery in *Fields of Mistria* allows for Essence Stone crafting. This location is part of a new questline added in the March 2025 update, requiring you to build the refinery from scratch in the mines. After completing prerequisite quests, Adeline will enlist your help alongside Olric and Errol.

To build the Stone Refinery, you'll need:

• 200 Wood
• 400 Stone
• 5,000 Tesserae

Once built, you can craft Essence Stones of varying sizes. Each requires Stone and Essence, but the quantities vary depending on the size. See the table below:

Beyond Essence Stones, the Stone Refinery crafts various common materials, Refined Stone, and rare items like Obsidian and Diamond, making it a crucial hub for crafting supplies.

How to Use Essence Stones in Fields of Mistria

The March 2025 update introduced the auto-petter and sprinkler mechanics. Both utilize Essence Stones, with larger stones providing longer durations. Large Essence Stones offer the longest charge.

The auto-petter, linked to the Animal Sprite Statue, automatically pets animals in Large Barns and Coops when an Essence Stone is inserted. This statue is found in a concealed cave near Errol's house (use Dragon's Breath). Additional statues can be crafted.

The sprinkler mechanic, using the Water Sprite Statue, automatically waters crops within a 2-tile radius. The statue and its crafting scroll are located on a small island east of the beach, beyond the Lighthouse (requires Dragon's Breath to access). Additional statues can also be crafted.
