The Elytra, a rare and coveted item, grants players the ability to glide. Resembling a pair of wings when deployed and a cloak when folded, it significantly enhances exploration efficiency, especially when combined with fireworks. Naturally found in the End after defeating the Ender Dragon, they're located within End City ships. However, alternative acquisition methods exist for different game modes.

How to Get Elytra in Minecraft (Survival Mode)

Preparing for Battle: Before venturing to the End, thorough preparation is crucial. Equip yourself with Diamond or Netherite armor, ideally enchanted for superior protection. A powerful, enchanted sword and bow (consider Infinity or Power enchantments for the bow) are essential for combating the Ender Dragon. Stock up on arrows or a crossbow with fireworks, regeneration, strength, and slow-falling potions. Golden apples provide crucial emergency healing, and blocks aid in reaching End Crystals. A carved pumpkin protects against Endermen aggression.

Activating the Portal to the End: This requires 12 Eyes of Ender. Each Eye of Ender needs Blaze Powder (from Blaze Rods dropped by Blazes in Nether Fortresses) and an Ender Pearl (dropped by Endermen). Craft the Eyes of Ender as shown below.

How to Fly with Elytra
