How To Complete Under the Straw Hat Side Quest in Kingdom Come Deliverance 2 (KCD2)

To embark on the "Under the Straw Hat" quest in *Kingdom Come: Deliverance 2*, you'll first need to reach Kuttenberg and begin the prerequisite quest, "In Vino Veritas." Once in Kuttenberg, locate Casper Rudolf, a wine enthusiast offering free samples on the city's west side. He needs your help gathering information to improve his wine.

You can either directly approach Havel, a wine expert, showcasing your wine knowledge (requiring fine clothing and cleanliness), or retrieve Casper's book from Adleta for additional information. To impress Havel, select "Germany," "Steinberger," and "It's missing ginger" during your conversation. Return to Casper with your findings.

Accessing the Vineyard

Casper now tasks you with infiltrating the vineyard north of Kuttenberg to discover more about a specific incense. Avoid trespassing by using the main road. Speak to the recruiter at the vineyard entrance to officially begin the "Under the Straw Hat" quest. Proceed to find Jerome, who will explain your vineyard duties.

Working the Vineyard

Your vineyard work begins the following day. You can either complete assigned tasks (moving sacks and picking thistles) for payment, or directly search for the secret incense in the cellar of the main building. Access to the cellar requires either lockpicking skills or stealing Jerome's keys. Inside, locate and retrieve the Sulphur Wicks to complete the main objective. For extra rewards, collect five seedlings near the main building entrance (be mindful of trespassing). After completing your tasks (or not!), return to Casper with your findings to finish both "Under the Straw Hat" and "In Vino Veritas." You’re now free to tackle other quests, such as "Master Schindel’s Toys."
