Here's an official description:

Civilization VII - VR brings the iconic 4X strategy experience to life in unprecedented ways. The game world unfolds on a Command Table, allowing players to zoom in for intricate details or zoom out for a grand overview. Interact directly with world leaders, forging alliances or declaring war across the ages.

Play in immersive VR or mixed reality, seamlessly switching between modes. The VR experience places you in an elegant museum overlooking a personalized vista, while mixed reality adapts the Command Table to your physical space. A dedicated Archives room showcases your accomplishments in both VR and mixed reality. Engage in online multiplayer matches with up to three other players.

The PC and console versions of Civilization VII, currently available via early access, have received mixed reception. Steam reviews highlight concerns regarding the user interface, limited map variety, and missing features.

Firaxis has acknowledged this feedback, pledging improvements to the UI, the addition of team-based multiplayer, expanded map types, and other enhancements.

Take-Two CEO Strauss Zelnick, in an interview with IGN, addressed the negative reviews, expressing confidence that the core Civilization fanbase will embrace the game with continued play. He described the game's initial performance as "very encouraging."
